NYCwiki:Heritage

The NYCwiki Heritage Project is a potential project to develop resources on the cultural heritage of the city, by creating articles on local history and local historic sites covering the different neighborhoods. This would potentially be in coordination with local community groups, historical societies and archives.
Possible content includes NYC Landmarks Preservation Commission sites, and items of local history from newspaper archives.
An excellent visual corpus to build upon is the Wikis Take Manhattan photo scavenger hunts, which actually cover all Five Boroughs. There are now many NYC historic sites with great pictures, but that are still waiting for corresponding articles to be written.
